Briarcliffe College Celebrates 45th Anniversary At Brunch And Scholarship Gala

School Recognizes the Hon. Edward P. Mangano, Nassau County Executive and Trustee Emeritus for Contributions to Area Educational Institutions
MELVILLE, N.Y., OCTOBER 5, 2011 — On Sunday, October 16, Briarcliffe College will celebrate 45 years educating students in the Long Island community with a brunch and scholarship gala. The event will also honor Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano for his efforts to improve the county infrastructure and his support of educational institutions in the community.
The event will be held at The Woodlands at the Greens in Melville, NY from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 16.
“As a member of the Briarcliffe College Board of Trustees and throughout his term as Nassau County Executive, Mr. Mangano has been a leader in the community by leading the charge to improve educational and civic institutions, as well as support business through a focus on creating jobs,” said Dr. George Santiago, Jr., president of Briarcliffe College. “Over the past 45 years, the Briarcliffe College campuses have shared a similar commitment to leadership by helping our students achieve their personal, professional and academic goals.”
Mr. Mangano is a long-term member of the Board of Trustees at Briarcliffe College and delivered the May 2011 commencement address.
Since 1966, Briarcliffe College has graduated more than 12,000 students and provided a career-focused education to a diverse student population. The gala event will help to raise funds for the college’s general scholarship fund to benefit need-based students.
