Public Invited to Attend Artist Reception on February 9th from 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

BETHPAGE, N.Y., JANUARY 18, 2012 - A new, two-person exhibition entitled "Emergent Form" will be on view at the Briarcliffe College Art Gallery this January through March. Artists Karyn Cernera Bush and John Cino will showcase a fusion of abstract paintings on canvas, drawings and wood sculptures. The public exhibition runs from January 16 through March 2 and will be free of charge.

he public is invited to attend the artists’ reception for "Emergent Form" on Thursday, February 9th at the Briarcliffe College Art Gallery from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

In describing the exhibition, chief gallery curator, Beth Giacummo says, "Emergent Form is a fusion of two artists working in very different mediums. Both artists explore life and/or living forms without explicit representation. The exhibit features a variety of expressions through paint, works on paper, and wood and ceramic sculpture."

Artist Karyn Cernera Bush states that the abstract paintings resemble organic forms in various stages of growth and development, though are not directly related to stages of life. "To me, they relate to various stages of idea development as it is a true exploration of new concepts executed within the past year."

The wood sculptures by John Cino display the collaboration between artist and material. "Each piece of wood is a unique record of life, documented in the pattern of its grain and rings and I draw on that in my sculptures," says Cino.
