The commission on Higher Education is an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Commission on Higher Education Accreditation.

The New York State Board of Regents also authorizes Briarcliffe to offer Diploma, Associate degree and Bachelor's degree programs.

Alabama - Briarcliffe College is authorized by the Alabama Department of Postsecondary Education to operate a private school pursuant to the Alabama Private School License Law.
Alaska - Briarcliffe College programs are exempt from authorization under AS 14.48 because the programs are distance delivered and the institution does not have a physical presence in the state.
Arkansas - Briarcliffe College is certified to offer online degree programs by the Arkansas Higher Education Coordinating Board. Arkansas Higher Education Coordinating Board certification does not constitute an endorsement of any institution or program. Such certification merely indicates that certain criteria have been met as required under the rules and regulations implementing institutional and program certification as defined in Arkansas Code §6-61-301.

Minnesota - Briarcliffe College is registered as a private institution with the Minnesota Office of Higher Education pursuant to sections 136A.61 to 136A.71. Registration is not an endorsement of the Institution. Credits earned at the Institution may not transfer to all other institutions.

The program in dental hygiene at Briarcliffe College is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation and has been granted the accreditation status of approval without reporting requirements.
