This degree will equip you with the skills to use the latest technologies and techniques to promote brands and help position them as leaders in their fields.
What Can You Do With a Marketing Degree?
Marketing has become such a diverse industry that there are many options available to someone with the right degree. From analyzing the industry and your company's position in it, to running competitions and keeping your brand front of mind in consumers, here are just some of the opportunities that await you:
Companies want to hire people who can publicize their product or service to the right people. As a promotions manager, you would oversee a team of marketers working to create advertising and events that showcase new or existing products, and ensure that these communications are positioned correctly and reaching the right audience. Some of the ways your team would do this include the following:
- Sweepstakes and contests
- Store displays
- Direct mail fliers
- Billboard and advertising signs
- Internet advertising techniques
- Social media accounts

Public Relations Specialist
Public relations (PR) specialists are key liaisons to a company's audience and customers. As a PR specialist, you would be the voice of the company. Press releases and company events go through you, and you look for new and exciting ways to inspire fresh editorial coverage of your company's operations. Many companies use the services of PR agencies to help them in this regard, so you could end up working on multiple accounts at a time, or concentrating on one large account.
With a business degree focused in marketing, you'll find yourself working daily with other creatives to bring new ideas to the table for company or brand. From brainstorming to project management to realization, a marketing manager is involved with every aspect of a particular brand promotion. You would help create promotional copy tailored to a particular audience, design packaging and find the best way to present the new campaign to the audience. Market Research Analyst
A market research analyst demonstrates excellent fact-finding and research skills. With your BBA, you can scrutinize market conditions and track product sales, while translating them through various media to provide cost-comparisons and market fluctuations to the rest of the company. Spend your workday diving into databases and researching demographics. If you live for opinion polls, questionnaires and surveys, this is the career for you. You'll be working for private firms or large corporations to articulate consumer behavior to those who pull the trigger on a new initiative.
