Briarcliffe College Softball has an excellent group of freshman coming in. We have always had excellent offense. This year the defense will shine too based on the abilities demonstrated by our incoming class:
- Shannon Dougherty – catcher from East Greenbush, NY. Has one of the strongest arms you will ever see. Picked off a runner to win the NYS Section II Class AA Regional’s
- Hilda Gil – outfielder from Riverdale/Kingsbridge Academy who’s speed and tracking ability will make our pitchers very happy. She batted .434 with 14 stolen bases her senior year.
- Brianne Roselle – outfielder from Walt Whitman HS who can play any outfield position and who’s throwing arm is exceptional.
- Alicia Sheron – outfielder transferring from Adelphi University who chose not to play her freshman season there. She will help us on offense and defense.
- Ivette Yi Santiago – pitcher/infielder from Paterson Catholic HS in New Jersey who will be a big plus to BC offensively, defensively and on the mound.
- Ariel Marchany – infielder from Paterson Catholic HS in New Jersey who can handle any infield position and has a great swing.
- Cristina Gomez – 1B/OF from Freeport HS who has a sweet stroke and plays defense extremely well.
- Amanda Dolowicz – outfielder from Patchogue Medford HS who has the ability to play any OF position. Her great speed will keep balls from hitting the grass.
- Jillian McGoven – pitcher from Island Trees HS who was one of the top pitchers in Nassau County for years. She toke her team into the finals again this season.
- Brittany Hubbschmitt – catcher from Elmira, NY who has great quickness and can play multiple positions.
- Joselyn Caraballo – pitcher from HS of Telecommunication Arts & Technology. She is returning to college this year and had a great career in HS. She has a bat that will add to an already strong offense
