Congratulations to Tara Ernst of our Women’s Bowling team receiving Rookie of the Year and Jack Castallano named second team All-American by the United States Bowling Congress (USBC). Also Jack was named College Athlete of the Year by the Nassau County Sports Commission.
Briarcliffe College Softball defeats Monroe College after late game error, 8-7. They exchanged the lead seven times on Thursday, but Briarcliffe College Softball ended up on top with an 8-7 win in seven innings over Monroe College.
Briarcliffe College Softball finally managed to grab the lead after a strong seventh inning. Raina Bunai racked up three RBIs on two hits for Briarcliffe College Softball. She doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the seventh inning. The Briarcliffe College Softball pitcher , Jillian McGovern struck out six, walked none and surrendered seven hits.
Briarcliffe College Softball scored four runs in the fourth inning, and then followed it up with four more in the seventh. In the fourth, Briarcliffe College Softball scored on an RBI double by Bunai, plating Hilda Gil. The seventh spelled defeat for Monroe College, as Briarcliffe College Softball grabbed the lead for good. More runners rounded the bases on an error and a two-run single by Bunai.

Briarcliffe College Softball falls to Monroe College 3-0 in spite of Iaquinta's performance. Bianca Iaquinta went 2-3, but Briarcliffe College Softball still fell to Monroe College 3-0 in seven innings on Thursday at Home. L Rosa recorded the win for Monroe College. She pitched seven shutout innings. The Monroe College pitcher struck out two, walked one and surrendered five hits.
Softball is home today at 3:30pm at the PAL Complex.
Our Baseball team beat Queensboro CC yesterday, 10-3 behind Vinny Aprano who pitched 7 innings and gave up 3 runs. Dan Harty pitched 2 scoreless innings in relief. Rich Ireland was 4/5 with 5 RBI; Sam Braverman 3/5 with 3 RBI & Tom Butler 3/4 with 1RBI.
