As a completion program, the concentration prepares students to enter management and administration realms in healthcare/business setting and serves to enhance the knowledge and skills previously acquired or of those already employed in practical field.
Students pursuing this concentration will be able to focus their studies on the maintenance and care of health data and records. A Healthcare Information Administrator will apply their training in medical terminology, healthcare management, law, ethics, policy, and current issues to provide oversight of health care data collection and reporting systems to assure integrity and availability of the information maintained. The field of health information management supports interactive communication among those in the healthcare industry to improve health and healthcare delivery.
