Associate of Applied Science in Health Information Technology

The Associate of Applied Science Degree program in Health Information Technology is designed to prepare you for a healthcare career outside of direct patient care and beyond the medical office or medical billing. Through challenging hands-on assignments, you will learn the technical aspects of the health information management profession. You will be afforded the opportunity to expand your knowledge by selecting an area of specialization in auditing, technology, or leadership, enabling you to pursue additional professional certifications in your specialization prior to graduation. You can also build on this program to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management.

Institutional Accreditation: Briarcliffe College is accredited by The Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. The commission on Higher Education is an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Commission on Higher Education Accreditation.

Programmatic Accreditation: The Healthcare program is not programmatically accredited.

The New York State Board of Regents also authorizes Briarcliffe to offer Diploma, Associate degree and Bachelor's degree programs.
