Bachelor of Professional Studies Dental Hygiene Completion - Education and Research

The Dental Hygiene Completion Program leading to the Bachelor of Professional Studies (BPS) degree is designed to be responsive to the current needs of creating a new cadre of educated dental hygienists to pursue careers in public health, academia and research. The course of studies and curriculum has been designed with two available concentrations: a) Public Health; and b) Education and Research.

Graduates of other ADA-accredited dental hygiene programs may enroll in the Briarcliffe Bachelor of Professional Studies for an opportunity to gain education and skills in areas such as planning, developing, managing and evaluating community health programs; developing and evaluating epidemiologic studies and funding proposals; curriculum design and evaluation; and developing and implementing strategies for teaching. The program can help students make a smooth transition into either the Public Health or Education and Research concentration. Both concentrations include a capstone project focused on the student's field of interest. And because both concentrations are offered in a fully online format, students can work their studies around their schedule.
