Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Accounting
The four-year Bachelor of Business Administration degree program in Accounting emphasizes an understanding of underlying principles of accounting and its application to management situations.
Building upon the foundation of the General Education and Business core requirements, accounting majors at Briarcliffe can focus on cost accounting, law and tax issues, financial accounting, internal auditing, or the use of information technology in accounting functions. Students will study the importance of the basic principles of finance in relation to business. Topics covered include the time value of money, financial statement analysis, credit, debt instruments, break-even analysis and cash-flow requirements.
You can also acquire a core set of technical knowledge, including training in computer applications, so that they may understand the design, implementation and review of a fully automated accounting system.
The Briarcliffe BBA in Accounting provides students with an education in breadth and depth in both accounting and a wide array of business disciplines. The curriculum is designed to provide students interested in preparing for careers in accounting, auditing or other cognate professional business career opportunities.
