The Fair Media Council and BeTheMedia have teamed up to offer a 'Summer Social Media Boot Camp' on Friday, July 15 at Briarcliffe College, Bethpage, N.Y. Shorts and flip flops is the recommended attire.
This half-day event, which runs from 7.30 a.m. to 12 noon, offers six workshop choices and features a breakfast keynote address by internationally sought-after speaker, BeTheMedia's David Mathison. Workshop selections include:
- Why Use Social Media?
- Creating An Effective Message To Tell (and Sell) Your Story
- How to Begin Using Social Media
- Understanding the Different Social Media Channels
- How to Know If You're Using Social Media Effectively
- What We've Learned: Local Companies Share Experiences in Using Social Media
"This event is designed for organizations who are new to using social media to promote themselves, or are using it but aren't quite sure how to gauge their success with it," said Jaci Clement, executive director of the Fair Media Council. "We want to reach deep into the community with this event, and help those organizations most in need."
North Shore-LIJ Health System is the presenting sponsor of the event. St. Joseph's College and Briarcliffe College are major sponsors. Tickets are $75 for FMC members, $99 for nonmembers. Registration forms are downloadable from www.fairmediacouncil.org.
