Student Admissions Process

At Briarcliffe College, we view every member of our academic community as an individual, not just a transcript. That's why we emphasize one-to-one relationships with our students, beginning with the admissions process, which we strive to keep simple and easy to understand.

Briarcliffe students come from a variety of educational backgrounds. Whether you are fresh out of high school or a transfer student, our campuses recognize the diversity of our student population.

We invite you to visit a Briarcliffe campus and talk with students, faculty and staff. Once you see how far your education can take you in life, we think you'll be ready to become a member of our supportive community. Then, you'll just need to follow these simple steps to apply for admission:

  1. Complete a Briarcliffe College application for admission. You can complete your application entirely online,on campus, or you can download an application and complete it at home.
  2. Submit your completed application in person, by mail or online. (A non-refundable application fee of $35.00 must be submitted with the application or the application must be accompanied by an approved Application Fee Waiver Form. Applicants to Briarcliffe College who wish to be considered for an application fee waiver may do so through Briarcliffe’s Office of Admissions.)
  3. Participate in an admissions interview with a Briarcliffe Admissions Representative, either over the phone or in-person. These highly trained individuals can help you clarify your career goals and identify the right education program that can help you achieve them.
  4. Provide documentation of a High School Diploma (meeting New York State regulations), G.E.D., or college degree.

(Although not required for admissions, we strongly encourage students to submit national college entrance examination test scores, such as the S.A.T. or A.C.T. Favorable applications for admission may include previous academic achievements, participation in extracurricular activities, work experience and the demonstration of positive personal characteristics.)

Briarcliffe College follows a rolling admissions policy that enables us to notify the student of an admission decision within weeks of completing the application process. We look forward to receiving your application and to welcoming you into the Briarcliffe community.

Additional Enrollment Criteria

Admissions Testing

Students must score a 13 or higher to be admitted to the institution (or minimum acceptable score for the program of interest).

If a student does not meet the minimum acceptable score on the exam after his or her first attempt, a student may attempt a first retake the same day and a second retake within 24 hours. If the student still does not meet the minimum score, the third retake should not be taken until one year from the initial testing date.

Tests scores are valid from one year (365 days) from last meeting their minimum acceptable score for their program.

For certain programs, successful performance on one or more entrance assessments may also be required.

In cases where the number of potential applicants exceeds the total number of available seats, a rubric will be used to objectively assess applicants to the program who meet all of the enrollment requirements to determine the accepted class and to determine alternates to the class.

At Briarcliffe College, help is never far away, so please feel free to contact us at any time to learn more about our school and programs or to apply for admission.

Please note that not all programs are available at all locations.
