International Student Admissions
This school is authorized under Federal law to enroll non-immigrant students. Before an I-20A/B Form is issued by Briarcliffe, international students should submit documentation of possession of a diploma or other evidence of graduation (e.g., a transcript of coursework) from secondary studies equivalent to a U.S. high school. If such documents are in a language other than English, they should be accompanied by a certified translation in English.
To be considered for admission, Briarcliffe College may require evidence of English language ability sufficient to engage in college level work from all international students whose native language is not English and who have not provided evidence of graduation from a secondary school utilizing English as the principal language of instruction. This evidence may include one or more of the following:
- A minimum score of 500 on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)-Paper Test.
- A minimum score of 173 on the TOEFL-Computer Based Test.
- A minimum score of 61 on the TOEFL-Internet-based test.
- The successful completion of Level 109 in English as a Second Language Program sponsored by an ELS Language Center.
- The successful attainment of Band 6 in programs offered by the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).
- A notarized evaluation by an appropriate administrator of a U.S. international cultural center, which evaluated the candidate’s ability to undertake a program of college-level study taught entirely in English.
Analysis of college-level work in the student’s home country is the responsibility of the student. Recommended foreign educational credentials analysis agencies and their charges will be provided by the Office of Student Management upon request. The student is responsible for furnishing necessary documents and payments to such agencies and arranging for the agency to submit the results of their analysis to Briarcliffe College. Students must also complete the College’s Application form and I-20 Application along with all required documentation.
