Briarcliffe College Receives Governor's Citation
March 10, 2010
(Patchogue, NY April 21, 2010) The Governor’s Citation recognizes Briarcliffe College for its community efforts and providing The Unity Coalition a free meeting place at the College’s Patchogue campus in which to advance The Unity Coalition’s “goals of unity, information-sharing, and positive action.” The Unity Coalition – an alliance of state and local representatives, as well as community advocates, and concerned residents of the Patchogue and Medford communities – was initiated in 2008 as a response to the bias-related murder of Ecuadorian immigrant Marcelo Lucero in Patchogue.
