May 6, 2009
(Bethpage, NY…May 6, 2009) The economic fallout is on the minds of most, and Briarcliffe College is drawing on the talents of its faculty and partners to explore solutions through a Community Outreach Series available to the public free of charge. The first workshop, Navigating Your Way Through Tough Financial Times, will be held this month and will offer perspective and practical advice on personal finances.
The May 19th and repeated May 20th workshop will be presented by Olga Vasquez, a registered financial services representative with First Investors Corporation, a coast-to-coast company that works with clients on products designed to help families secure their financial futures, prepare for retirement, fund college education, and more.
Workshop topics will include: protecting your credit rating, the federal stimulus package and its effects on the middle class, and wise savings and investment allocations for education and retirement. Ms. Vasquez speaks Spanish and is able to offer perspective to a bi-lingual audience.
The workshop will be held Tuesday, May 19, 2009 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Briarcliffe College's Bethpage campus at 1055 Stewart Avenue in Bethpage and again on Wednesday May 20, 2009 from 6 to 8 pm at the College's Patchogue campus at 225 West Main Street in Patchogue.
Refreshments will be served and reservations are requested although not required. Call 516-918-3706.
