Degree is latest in College’s online business studies program
BETHPAGE, NY – (March 17, 2010) -- Briarcliffe College has received approval from the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) to offer an associate of applied science (A.A.S.) degree in business administration through a completely online format.
The online A.A.S. degree program — approved by The New York State Education Department/Office of Higher Education — supports Briarcliffe College’s mission to provide students with academic options. The A.A.S. degree program is in addition to last November’s announced approval of the online program toward a bachelor of business administration (B.B.A.) degree in business administration with a management concentration, scheduled to launch at Briarcliffe College this spring. The A.A.S. online program is expected to be up and running at the same time. Applications are currently being accepted.
According to Briarcliffe College President Dr. George Santiago, Jr., “By offering courses online, we are able to create a more flexible schedule for all those wishing to enroll – including students who work full time and find it difficult to reach our campuses to suit their schedules, as well as working adults who might be exploring career choices. Online delivery provides yet another Briarcliffe College advantage.”
Briarcliffe College, known for its career-focused education, offers a solid base in business principles and contemporary management practices. In the B.B.A. course of study, students may also pursue specializations such as Management.
“The online program allows students 24-7 access to the curriculum and library which is a great convenience,” said Briarcliffe College Director of Academic Technology Dr. Allen Zilbert, “However, it entails the same enrollment and coursework requirements as our traditional program and our faculty meets the same criteria of expertise and industry experience.”
