History and Mission
Briarcliffe College was founded in 1966 to meet the career-oriented higher education needs of Long Island residents and to help prepare them to pursue success in the business world. We take great pride in knowing our school is woven into the fabric of the Long Island communities we serve. We work closely with local businesses, seeking their input and utilizing their expertise to help shape our curriculum to ensure Briarcliffe students receive a market-relevant education specifically designed to expand their employment opportunities.

As the Long Island community has grown, we have expanded our facilities to address the growing needs throughout Suffolk County and Queens to provide convenient access to day and evening classes for students across the entire metropolitan area.
Briarcliffe College is owned by Briarcliffe College Incorporated, which is wholly owned by Career Education Corporation (CEC). CEC is a Delaware corporation with principal offices located at 2895 Greenspoint Parkway, Suite 600, Hoffman Estates, Illinois 60169.
